VALENTINE'S DAY

Una lista con 14 temas de amor infaltables en el día de San Valentín.

1.- Love's Theme - Love Unlimited Orchestra

A inicios de los 70s, el compositor y productor norteamericano Barry White, forma una orquesta llamada Love Unlimited Orchestra. Este tema creado también por White, es una de las más famosas a nivel mundial.

2.- Only You (And You Alone) - The Platters

El grupo coral The Platters, es ampliamente conocido por esta canción. Muchos artistas la han interpretado en diversos estilos e idiomas.

3.- I Just Called To Say I Love You - Stevie Wonder

Esta balada del artista de R and B, Stevie Wonder, fue número 1 en medio mundo incluyendo países como Estados Unidos e Inglaterra.

4.- Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns 'N' Roses

Aunque a algunos le parezca extraño, este tema se puede catalogar como canción de amor pues, Axl Rose la escribió para su pareja sentimental de aquel entonces.

5.- Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley

Una de las canciones más "soft" del Rey del Rock. Solo utiliza una guitarra acústica para una sencilla pero tierna lírica de llamado a su amada.

6.- Baby I Love Your Way - Peter Frampton

El cantante y compositor británico Peter Frampton, lanza a mediados de los 70s, este tema cuya versión en vivo es más famosa que la versión estudio. Un par de décadas más tarde vuelve a figurar en las listas musicales de la mano del grupo Reggae, Big Mountain.

7.- Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Marvin Gaye / Tammi Terrell

Marvin Gaye fue un artista R and B y Tammi Terrell fue una vocalista del sello discográfico Motown Records. Juntos graban este tema a finales de los 60s. Ha sido versionado por artistas como Diana Ross y Temptations. También fue utilizado en un anuncio publicitario de telefonía móvil.

8.- Fallin' - Alicia Keys

A pesar de haber iniciado su carrera en los 80s, es recién en 2001 cuando esta cantante y compositora consigue su mayor éxito con este single debut perteneciente a su primer álbum "Songs In A Minor".

9.- You Got It - Roy Orbison

El guitarrista norteamericano Roy Orbison fallece en diciembre de 1988 y en enero de 1989 se lanza este single de su álbum "Mistery Girl". Orbison creó esta canción junto a dos ex-integrantes de Traveling Wilburys, Tom Petty y Jeff Lynne.

10.- Crazy For You - Madonna

Esta canción forma parte de la banda sonora de la película Vision Quest de 1985. La letra es acerca de una mujer que describe sus sentimientos a su pareja. Esto es algo poco común puesto que el tópico suele ser al revés.

11.- Love Is In The Air - John Paul Young

El australiano John Paul Young saltó a la fama internacional con este tema de 1977. Es el único éxito de este artista quien luego se dedicó -entre otras actividades- a la TV.

12.- (They Long To Be) Close To You - Carpenters

The Carpenters fue un dúo de hermanos norteamericanos que tuvieron un par de décadas de carrera musical. Esta balada de 1970 y perteneciente a su segundo LP "Close To You", logró liderar las listas de países como Estados Unidos, Australia y Canadá.

13.- Eternal Flame - The Bangles

El grupo femenino The Bangles cambia su estilo Rock a Soft Pop con esta balada en 1989. Lideró rankings de varios países como USA y UK.

14.- Just The Way You Are - Billy Joel

Esta canción fue en realidad una dedicatoria a la primera esposa del pianista y compositor norteamericano, Billy Joel. Perteneciente a su quinto larga duración, "The Stranger", el single logró liderar las listas de Adult Contemporary de USA y Canadá.

Motivo:
